These pieces can be used as Leather Rivet Washers when attaching metal fittings or other components to thick leather. The washer provides a broader surface behind the rivet, helping distribute pressure and reducing the chance of the rivet pulling directly through the leather.
Once the rivet passes through the material and washer, its end can be carefully peened for a secure attachment.
