Burgundian Kettle Helmet 16 Gauge Historically Accurate 15th century helmet

This legendary helm is one of our BEST-RECONSTRUCTED HELMETS directly inspired by an original Burgundian Kettle helmet, dated from the second half of the 15th century, currently exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.

This historically accurate helmet is loved by reenactors for late medieval events and appreciated by all fighters who value its visibility on the battlefield. It will never impede the vision or breathing, making it one of the most popular helmets on reenactment battlefields and in LARP events. Keeping that in mind, we have made an effort to replicate the distinct shape of the kettle hat that was worn by both infantry and light cavalry in the late 15th century, and even by knights on occasion.

This helmet is handmade from 16 gauge MILD STEEL with a polished finish. The height is about 23.5 cm, the inner depth from front to back at eye level measures about 24 cm, and the inner width at ear level is about 21 cm. This helmet has an inner circumference of 68 cm (before leather liner attachment) and will fit most head circumferences from about 58cm to 61-62cm, depending on the shape of the wearer’s head. If you desire to wear an additional padded cap, then measure your head circumference while wearing it. (The adjustable GENUINE LEATHER LINER already attached inside the helmet is often enough for most adult male heads). A sturdy chin strap with a brass buckle closure keeps the helmet secure during battle. Weighs about 2 Kg 60 grams. Note: This product is carefully coated with a layer of oil when packaged that acts as a temporary (protective) layer against corrosion (rust), which can easily be wiped off using any oil remover or even a dry cloth.
