Built from sturdy genuine wood, this shield is individually handcrafted, for the natural wood grain and subtle handcrafted details to stand out. The solid wooden body has metal fittings on it which is inspired by Viking shields. Whether displayed proudly or carried into your next reenactment, this shield is designed to last for years.

Inspired by the Shields of Viking Warriors

Round shields were one of the most recognizable pieces of Viking equipment, carried by Norse warriors from the 8th to the 11th century. They gave protection in battle and were also good enough for quick movement. This viking wooden shield has a round profile, reinforced metal bands, and a steel boss (umbo).

Built for Reenactment, Display & Collection

The round viking shield is fitted with a metal handle for a secure and comfortable grip during use. A wooden cover over the handle improves comfort with better control. The metal bands are crafted from 18-gauge mild steel, while the central boss (umbo) is made from 16-gauge mild steel, for strength where it matters most. Whether you’re attending LARP events, reenactments, Renaissance fairs, theatre use, or for decorating your home, this viking round shield is great.
