The History Behind Gothic Armor
By the late 15th century, European armorers had mastered the art of plate armor, and the Gothic style emerged as one of the best examples of medieval craftsmanship. With ridges and articulated plates, Late medieval Pauldrons were made to protect the shoulders while even allowing knights to use swords and fight on foot without restriction.
Armor evolved continuously as weapons became more advanced. Broad shoulder defenses gradually transformed into layered, articulated designs for more effective protection.
Designed for Movement and Protection
The carefully shaped shoulder plates overlap smoothly, so the armor moves naturally with your body. The fluted Gothic shape not only gives these pauldrons their striking look but also helps deflect glancing blows.
This medieval shoulder armor creates a commanding medieval silhouette. It is ideal for Reenactments, Light combat, Renaissance fairs, stage use, theater and historical displays.
With 16 gauge mild steel these gothic shoulder armor have lasting durability, while the articulated design keeps the shoulders comfortable during wear.
