Description
This Natural medieval drinking horn is inspired by Norse mythology and Viking culture. It has the famous Triple Horn of Odin design engraved on it, also known as the Horn Triskelion. The horn is made from ethically sourced natural ox horn and finished with a polished surface that highlights its organic nature and color variations.
The Triple Horn of Odin is a powerful symbol in Viking history. It comes from the myth of the Mead of Poetry, where Odin drank from three sacred horns, so that he could gain wisdom and poetic knowledge. Each interlocking horn in the design shows one draught taken by Odin. This symbol has been found on historical artifacts such as the 9th-century Snoldelev Stone in Denmark and is still used today by people connected to Norse heritage.
The Norse drinking horn is fitted with a pure brass rim and a decorative crocodile brass tip, for a strong visual presence. While it is primarily designed as a decorative piece, it can also be used for drinking. With a capacity of about 300 – 400 ml, it is suitable for cold or room-temperature beverages such as mead or ale.
Because it is made from natural horn, every piece is unique in shape, tone, and pattern. This makes it a meaningful display item as well as a functional mead drinking horn for themed events, Viking feasts, or displays. It pairs well with Viking attire and works beautifully as a viking horn for decorative use, while still showing the character of a traditional medieval drinking horn and viking drinking horn used during historical feasts.
