Description

Medieval 15th Century Leeds Brigandine – Suede Leather with Riveted Steel Plates

Experience late medieval Europe with this historically inspired Brigandine armor, made to display the protection, flexibility and mobility valued by 15th-century soldiers. Brigandines were widely favored during this era for their ability to provide defense without the rigidity of complete plate armor.

It is crafted from genuine suede leather with a thickness of approx 2 mm, with internal 18-gauge mild steel plates. Depending on size, the plate number varies from 149 and 185 individually riveted plates. These plates are arranged in a true period pattern so that the weight distributes evenly giving freedom of movement.

This Leather Brigandine armor is inspired by an original Brigandine armor at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, England. The visible rivet pattern is made from aluminium to prevent any corrosion and for a beautiful shiny look, suited for LARP, display and performance use.

Genuine leather straps at the front and shoulders, secured with sturdy buckles, give a comfortable and secure fit over a gambeson or other under-layers. The adjustability makes it suitable that the Brigandine can be worn for different body types.

Ideal for combat, LARP events, historical festivals, display and stage use, this medieval Brigandine armor is both a functional protective gear and as a collectible piece for enthusiasts who want authenticity.
