Description
Experience the age of chivalry with our 14th Century Knight Bascinet Helmet, a striking reproduction that shows the essence of medieval warfare and knightly valor. Inspired by authentic historical sources such as Spinello Aretino’s painting (1407–1408) and the frescoes of the Affresco Camera Pinta in Spoleto, Italy. This helmet is a true tribute to the artistry and function of medieval armour.
Crafted from 16-gauge mild steel, the Bascinet Helmet provides both protection and authenticity. Its distinctive visor, with multiple perforations, ensures maximum airflow and visibility while still guarding the face during combat. The visor is also movable, allowing the wearer to adjust it for comfort, communication, or combat needs.
Inside, the helmet is equipped with a padded liner that cushions the head, enhances stability, and provides long-lasting comfort. Its generous 68 cm inner circumference ensures a reliable fit for most adult head sizes. A leather chin strap with buckle keeps the helmet secure, even in reenactments, LARP events.
Weighing just 2.26 kg, the Bascinet Helmet is strong without being difficult to handle, making it ideal for both active use and display. To protect its polished surface, each helmet is coated with a temporary layer of oil before shipping. This acts as a safeguard against rust and can be easily removed with a dry cloth or mild oil remover.
Whether you’re portraying a knight on the tournament field, a soldier in a medieval army, or a character on stage, this helmet provides a perfect blend of authenticity, protection, and comfort.
