Description
The Knights templar crusader helmet is inspired by the great helms worn by European knights during the Crusades between the 12th and 14th centuries. This helmet style was closely associated with the Knights Templar, which was a military order that stood for discipline, faith, and heavy armor. Its full-face design gave the warrior maximum protection during combat, and its simple shape showed the practical needs of medieval warfare.
This helmet has the shape of the classic cylindrical great helm with a flat top, narrow eye slits and cross-shaped ventilation cuts. These were really helpful because they allowed knights to breathe properly even when they were under tremendous pressure and it even displayed religious symbolism common during the Crusader period. The cross cutout became a powerful visual marker of devotion and identity on the battlefield.
Handcrafted from mild steel, this helmet is available in 14-gauge or 16-gauge, so that you can choose between heavier protection or lighter options. The 14 gauge can be used for training or combat while the lighter 16 gauge can be used for your LARP events, for Renfairs, as desired. The polished steel finish gives a mirror shiny look and also makes it more durable and easy to spot on the field.
Inside, a quilted canvas liner cushions the head and helps balance the weight of the helmet, this makes the helmet comfortable for long use.
A genuine leather chin strap with buckle keeps the Templar helmet secure during use and events. So it is great for LARP, stage use, Renfair events or even as a display piece. Whether paired with chainmail and a surcoat or displayed on a stand, this helmet represents the strength and purpose of Crusader-era knights.
This piece also works well as a Crusader Templar helmet, a Templar crusader helmet, or a crusader knight helmet for historical kits.
