Description
These chainmail gloves are made from genuine leather and are comfortable as well as protective. The body of the glove is made from soft suede leather, which gives a smooth, velvety feel against the skin. Suede helps in giving a good grip, reduces slipping, and stays comfortable even with long wear so it is great for events and training.
The chainmail is made from mild steel butted rings. Butted construction means the rings are not riveted, so the gloves are lightweight and easy to use. This gives you better finger movement and protection. Because these are butted, it decreases the chance of your hand getting tired. The chainmail has 6 mm rings made from 17-gauge wire. This combination gives the hand coverage, durability and mobility.
The steel rings have a zinc polish, which gives the gloves a clean, bright look. Zinc coating helps in rust resistance and corrosion, so it reduces the need for regular oiling or too much maintenance. This finish keeps the good look of the gloves and even makes them practical for frequent use.
Historically, Medieval chainmail gloves were worn by soldiers and knights to protect the hands which are one of the most vulnerable areas in combat. Gloves like these were commonly used with swords, shields and polearms, for protection with dexterity. Variations of gloves chainmail were used across Europe from the early medieval period onwards.
These chainmail gloves are suitable for LARP, stage combat, training or display. The suede body gives comfort and coverage at the wrist, while the chainmail hand gloves provide defense without restricting movement.
