Description
Our Italo-Norman Helmet is a faithful reproduction of the helmets worn by Norman and Southern Italian warriors during the 11th and 12th centuries, a time when Norman knights were expanding their influence across Europe and the Mediterranean. This style became especially well known during the Crusades, favored for its strong protection and simple yet effective design.
The helmet has a conical dome made from 16-gauge steel, built to deflect strikes while offering excellent coverage. The guard provides essential facial protection without restricting vision or breathing, making it practical for both battlefield and reenactment use.
Inside, the Italo-Norman Helmet is has attached stitched leather suspension liner, designed to cushion the head and evenly distribute its 2.6 kg weight for extended wear. A leather chin strap with buckle keeps it secure during movement, ensuring reliability whether in LARP combat, historical reenactments, or as a display piece.
