Sabatons, also called sollerets were indispensable to the knight’s harness of armor from the 14th through the 16th century. Forged to guard the foot and toes, they let warriors stride into the fray without fear of crippling injury beneath the clash of steel.

The Gothic style sabaton, with its signature elongated and pointed toe, rose to prominence in the 15th century. Not only was it a practical defense against trampling and strikes, but it also reflected the elegance and grandeur of the knightly class. In battle, tournament, or ceremonial display, the sabaton was both a shield and a symbol of prestige.

This Knight Sabatons pair has been faithfully recreated in 18 gauge mild steel, hand-forged to mirror authentic Gothic armour. Overlapping lames are riveted in an articulated pattern, granting flexibility in step while never sacrificing protection. Adjustable leather straps with strong buckles secure the sabatons firmly to the foot, making them as reliable for wear as they are striking for display.
