Description
This 12th–13th Century Norman Spangenhelm Helmet offers a faithful recreation of one of medieval Europe’s most iconic helmets. Favored by Norman knights, Viking warriors, and Crusader soldiers, the Spangenhelm’s segmented construction allowed armorers to create a strong and durable helmet using riveted metal strips (“spangen”) joined around plate sections.
Crafted from 16-gauge mild steel, this helm features a polished finish and a classic full face guard—ventilated with vertical breathing slots for comfort during wear. Reinforcement bands crisscross the segmented dome, lending both historical accuracy and structural integrity.
Inside, a soft leather suspension liner and secure chin strap ensure a snug, adjustable fit—perfect for extended wear during battle simulations, LARP, or living history displays.
This model captures the transitional armor phase between open-faced war gear and the later enclosed great helms, delivering period-correct detail without sacrificing breathability or vision. Whether for display or performance, it reflects the strength, heritage, and battlefield evolution of the medieval warrior.
