The visor-less basinet is an ideal helmet for footmen, crossbowmen, spearmen billmen, and vougiers. It was popular among medieval armies because of its versatility and a perfect balance between protection and mobility. Just pair it with one of our chainmail aventails (sold separately), and you will get an optimum combination for your next LARP or reenactment, offering a great look without hampering your vision and freedom of movement.

This historic reproduction is HANDMADE from 16-gauge mild steel, lined with a comfortable and secure padded liner. A circumference of approximately 68 cm makes it fit almost all head sizes. A sturdy chin strap with a lovely buckle ensures your helmet stays in place during battles. Note: This product is carefully coated with a layer of oil when packaged that acts as a temporary (protective) layer against corrosion (rust), which can easily be wiped off using any oil remover or even a dry cloth.
