Description
The chainmail hauberk was one of the most essential pieces of medieval armor, worn by knights, soldiers, and mercenaries throughout the Middle Ages. This is made from 10 mm internal diameter butted rings in 16 gauge mild steel, arranged in the classic European 4-in-1 weave.
Designed for flexibility, mobility, and authentic medieval appearance, this chainmail hauberk is ideal for reenactments, stage combat and LARP. It is available in two distinct finishes to suit different needs:
Blackened Finish
-
Treated with a protective black coating that adds a rugged, battle-worn look.
-
Offers extra resistance to surface rust compared to untreated mild steel.
-
Perfect for darker-themed knightly or fantasy characters in LARP.
-
Requires occasional oiling and care to maintain its finish.
Zinc-Polished Finish
-
Rings are coated with a zinc layer for excellent corrosion resistance.
-
Bright silver shine gives a classic knightly appearance on stage and in reenactments.
-
Very low maintenance — unlike blackened mail, it does not require regular oiling.
-
Great choice for those who want easy upkeep and a long-lasting shine.
Care Instructions
Blackened Finish

Note:
Each Chainmail Hauberk is individually handcrafted by skilled armorers. Minor variations in ring alignment, finish, or drape are normal and reflect the authentic, handmade character of mail.
