Description
This socketed bronze arrowhead, measuring approximately 5.5 cm, is based on actual Late Bronze Age motifs found in Central and Southeastern Europe. Warriors and hunters preferred this variety because of its leaf-shaped, bilobate blade and conical socket, which provided accuracy in flight and deep, stable penetration upon contact.
The arrowhead’s shape was not ornamental; it was designed for performance and survival. Its deep central rib increased structural strength, while the socket ensured a solid fit on slender wooden shafts, reducing the possibility of detachment in combat or during hunting.
Each piece is brought to life through the lost-wax casting method—an ancient metallurgical process also known as cire perdue. This involves sculpting the arrowhead’s shape in wax, encasing it in clay, and then heating it until the wax melts away, leaving a cavity that is then filled with molten bronze. Once cooled and broken from the mold, each arrowhead bears the subtle marks of hand-finishing—making every example unique.
Durable, compact, and true to archaeological finds, this arrowhead is ideal for period-correct displays, experimental archaeology, or crafting museum-quality replicas.
