Description

Padded Arming Cap – Thick Quilted Protection: This padded arming cap is crafted for comfort and protection. Made with layers, it gives a thick and secure fit under helmets. The cap has three layers of quilting filled with recycled multi-fibre wadding, for excellent cushioning without feeling too heavy.

Quality Materials: The outer layer is made from durable cotton fabric that holds its shape well. Inside, the lining feels comfortable against the skin. The padding consists of a recycled blend of cotton, wool, and polyester fibres, for a mix of softness and resilience.

Strong Construction: The six-panel stitched design ensures a better fit around the head. The thick quilted structure gives shock absorption and helps reduce pressure from metal helmets.

Historical Purpose: In medieval times, warriors wore a padded cap under their helmets to protect the head from impact and to prevent metal edges from causing discomfort. It can be worn as a medieval cap on its own or as a padded helmet cap beneath steel helmets, bascinets etc.

Comfort & Versatility

  • Breathable design for long wear
  • Lightweight despite thick padding
  • Reduces chafing

The padded arming cap is ideal for events where comfort and stability are important.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Hand wash with cold water
  • Use mild detergent only
  • Do not machine wash or tumble dry
  • Air dry completely before storing
  • Store in a dry place away from moisture

Note: Each cap is individually handmade. The padding is made from a recycled multi-fibre blend (cotton, wool, polyester). Variations in composition may occur between batches.
