Description
The Three-Winged Arrowhead is a significant projectile point, also known as a three edge arrowhead or trilobate design. Recognized for its triangular cross-section and three edges, this form was developed for superior penetration. Unlike flat broadheads, these arrowheads were made to pierce armor, including chainmail and lighter plate, making them highly effective on medieval battlefields.
Hand-forged from solid iron, this medieval arrowhead has a durable construction with a black protective finish that enhances both its look and resistance to wear. The socketed base helps in secure mounting onto a wooden shaft. Each piece shows authentic forging techniques, resulting in slight variations that add to its historical character.
Three bladed arrowheads were valued for their ability to create deep, complex wounds that were difficult to treat. Today, this arrowhead is ideal for events, traditional archery setups, or as a collector’s piece, combining historical design with strong, functional craftsmanship.
