Description
This Viking Age Mjölnir pendant is a faithful reproduction of one of the most iconic Viking artifacts—the Bredsättra Thor’s Hammer from Öland, Sweden. Dating to the late 10th century, the original is celebrated for its artistry and its role as a symbol of devotion to Thor, the god of thunder.
The intricate interlace patterns and textured surfaces reflect the height of Viking metalwork, while the hammer’s form stands as a statement of cultural identity during a time of great change in Norse society. Worn as both an amulet and a declaration of heritage, the Mjölnir was a powerful emblem of strength and divine protection.
Cast in solid bronze using the traditional lost-wax cast method, this pendant captures every detail of the original find. It comes with an adjustable leather cord, making it suitable for historical wear or as a distinctive modern accessory.
NOTE ON BRONZE
Bronze was a favored metal in Viking jewelry for its durability, warm tone, and symbolic weight. Over time, it naturally develops a patina, deepening its character. Each pendant is hand-cast, so slight variations in tone and texture are normal.
