Description
In Viking culture, Key Pendant Necklace were more than just practical items—they were powerful emblems of authority. Worn visibly or suspended as a pendant, they marked a woman’s responsibility over household goods, wealth, and family resources. Numerous grave finds from sites like Birka and Hedeby have uncovered such keys, many made from bronze and richly adorned.
This Viking key pendant draws direct inspiration from those historical pieces. The top is crowned with interlaced knotwork symbolizing unity and protection, while the shank features a spiral twist and ends in a classic key bit form. Entirely cast in solid bronze and aged with an antique finish, the piece is both elegant and symbolic.
Its total length is approximately 6.3 cm, with the knotwork top measuring about 3 cm wide, making it bold enough for period outfits and subtle enough for modern wear. It comes ready to wear with a 2mm adjustable black leather cord, ensuring a comfortable fit for any look.
