The Dane Axe, a weapon wielded by the mighty Huscarls and esteemed warriors of the Anglo-Saxon and Viking worlds, exuded sheer terror. This terrifying weapon could cleave a man in two or slay even a robust battle horse. In the hands of a skilled and powerful warrior, this weapon could stop an entire army at a choke point like a bridge (like at Stanford Bridge in 1066). This significance led to its prominent depiction in numerous artworks of the era, such as the renowned Bayeux Tapestry.
This axe has a total length of about 24 cm and a blade width of about 18.9 cm. The socket is oval-shaped with a total length of about 3.3 cm and a total width of about 2.3 cm. Weighs about 1.5 Kg.
Note: This product is carefully coated with a layer of oil when packaged that acts as a temporary (protective) layer against corrosion (rust), which can easily be wiped off using any oil remover or even a dry cloth.
