Our Lombardic Byzantine Lamellar plates are inspired by an early 7th century AD piece of armour that would make an excellent companion to your reenactments from the Early Medieval Period. These are directly inspired by a historic find of Niederstotzingen, Grab. Their shape and structure allow them to make a perfect lamellar armour.
These Lombardic plates, made of untreated slightly oiled 20 gauge steel would make an excellent lamellar armour. Each hole measures 3.5mm in diameter. Each plate measures approximately (8.5 x 2.5) cm. The weight of 100 pieces of lamellar plates is approximately 1 Kg and 325 grams. Note: This set of scales is carefully coated with a layer of oil when packaged that acts as a temporary (protective) layer against corrosion (rust), which can easily be wiped off using any oil remover or even a dry cloth.
